Reports: Bus plunge kills 29 in Thailand

A passenger bus smashed through the guard rail on a bridge in northern Thailand and then plunged into a ravine, killing 29 of the 33 people on board, police said Friday.The accident took place in Petchabun in northern Thailand late on Thursday night.

The bus, which was en route to Chiang Rai from Khon Kaen, fell 50 meters (yards) into the ravine from the Khun Pha Muang bridge, police officials said.Thai television aired pictures of rescue teams searching the area for survivors.
