Putin congratulates Obama on New Year, expresses Russia’s commitment to constructive dialogue

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated on Tuesday his US counterpart President Barack Obama for the occasion of the New Year, expressing his country’s commitment to constructive dialogue with Washington.  

Russia’s Putin said in his message that Russia and the United States were able in 2013 to make an actual contribution of efforts aimed at maintaining global stability, adding that both countries worked with respect to each other’s interests.          

Citing Putin’s message to Obama, the Kremlin press service said that Russia will continue to work with the US in a bid to secure a better understanding in bilateral ties and broaden cooperation between both countries.
