China says 11 "terrorists" dead in Xinjiang attack

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told visiting U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday that Beijing is committed to peacefully resolving territorial disputes in the East and South China Seas.           
But Wang added that he hoped the United States would respect China's "sovereign rights", "treat the issue objectively and fairly" and not take sides, the official Xinhua news agency reported.      

Chinese FM also told Kerry that China will never allow any chaos or war on the Korean Peninsula.          
"China is serious on this. We not only say so, but do so," Wang said, in comments carried by the official Xinhua news agency.       

Also on Friday, the state news agency Xinhua said that a total of 11 "terrorists" died during an attack in China's restive far western region of Xinjiang.

Eight were killed by police and three others died "by their own suicide bomb", Xinhua said.
