Germany advises against travel to Egypt's Sinai

Germany warned on Wednesday its citizens against traveling to Egypt's Sinai in a further blow to tourism in the region.

The travel warning comes on the backdrop of a bus bombing near the town of Taba that killed three tourists and the driver last week.

The attack raised fears that Islamic militants are stepping up attacks to hurt Egypt's tourism.

The Foreign Ministry issued the travel warning saying that tourists already there should contact their travel agent to organize an early return.

Germany is a top source of tourists for Egypt as it is a popular destination for German tourists seeking sunshine during Europe's winter.
