Syrian Intelligence arrests prominent filmmaker Mohamed Malas

The Syrian Intelligence arrested on Tuesday a prominent Syrian filmmaker Mohamed Malas who was heading to the Lebanese border en route to Switzerland, a friend of Malas said.

Mohamed Malas directed several documentary and feature films that garnered international recognition.

The reasons behind his detention are yet to be revealed.
