Erekat to meet Clinton next week

The US State Department announced on Saturday that Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat will meet Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Washington next week, in an attempt to re-launch Middle East peace talks.

State Department Spokesperson Victoria Noland said that Clinton had held separate talks last Wednesday with Palestinian Authority Leader Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.

Peace talks between Israel and Palestine are currently at a frozen state, however representative from both sides still hold calm dialogue around several issues – they also deliver messages between Netanyahu and Abbas.
