Presidential elections in Somalia to be held on September 10th
A Somali official said on Friday that the parliament in Somalia will be holding presidential elections. These elections will be the final phase in the transitional process under the supervision of the UN.           

The election missed the August 20th deadline but with international pressure it was rescheduled for September 10th 2012.      

A group of traditional elders selected earlier this month the new parliament members who will be voting in a secret ballot.           

Somalia is trying to set up its first stable central government since the 1991 ousting of Dictator Mohamed Siad Barre, which sparked rounds of bloody civil war.
