Juppe warns of “stalemate” on Palestinian bid to UN

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe warned Friday that the Palestinian attempts to gain UN Security Council recognition of their statehood is headed towards a “stalemate”.

“France’s suggestion that Palestine can be given an intermediate status as a United Nations observer nation remained on the table, despite Israeli reservations”, Juppe’s spokesman says.
