Gaza fruits under Israeli blockade
The Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip does not seem to exclude anything with the decision of banning the export of “Gazan fruits” to Israel and the West Bank. This step prompted the Hamas Movement to ban the import of Israeli fruits except for bananas and apples for the purpose of “resisting Israel and protecting Palestinian farmers.”

In this regard, Gaza fruit importers criticized the Hamas ban, describing it as “irresponsible and unrealistic.” According to them, it will incur major losses for “the hundreds of Palestinians who are earning their living from selling Israeli fruits.”

For their part, Gazan farmers welcomed the decision especially that the prices of peaches and dates have doubled since the decision went into force.
