Egypt’s Morsi visits Copts in Sinai
Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi visited Sinai on Friday to reassure Copt families "afraid of Islamist threats."

The state television broadcasted images of him attending Friday prayers at a mosque in the north of Sinai, as his facebook page announced that he will be visiting Christian families in the area.

Few days earlier, circulating information reported that Christian families have fled to El-Arish town near the border with Gaza after receiving death threats by Islamists.

Christians in Egypt constitute 10% of the country's population of 82 million citizens. They have constantly suffered from discrimination and have been the target of several sectarian attacks.
