Terrorist threats for US after thwarted assassination

Washington warned its citizens and diplomats abroad Tuesday night from possible terrorist attacks after it succeeded in thwarting an alleged Iranian plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington Adel Jubeir on U.S. territories using explosives.

In parallel, a cable sent by the Iranian ambassador to the U.N. Mohammad Khazaee to the U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon described the U.S. accusations as “a devilish plot”.

U.S. President Barack Obama phoned ambassador Jubeir to express his country’s solidarity in the face of the “alleged plot” prepared by the Iranians against him.
