Israel names 477 prisoners to be freed
Hamas movement and Israel published Sunday morning the official list of 477 Palestinian prisoners who will be freed in the first stage of a swap deal that will occur on Tuesday in exchange for the captive Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

The list, published by the Ministry of Justice on the official website of the Israeli Prison Service, includes the name of 27 women. The release of this list will make it possible for individuals and organizations to appeal the decision before the Israeli Higher Court.

The two bitter enemies, Hamas and Israel, announced the deal nearly simultaneously Tuesday, ending a painful five-year saga surrounding Israeli Sgt. Gilad Shalit, captured in a cross-border raid and dragged into Gaza in June 2006. For his return Israel will free more than 1,000 prisoners.
