Bashir: Syria is subject to foreign conspiracy

Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir confirmed on Thursday that Sudan and Syria have always maintained good ties to serve the interests of the people of both countries.

“Syria is subject to foreign conspiracy due to its firm position on Arab matters,” he said, adding that “weakening Syria is a free gift for the Arab nation’s enemies.”

During his meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Syria Faisal Mekdad, Bashir said that “the conspiracies plotted by certain sides not only target a particular Arab country, rather all Arab states”, and confirmed that Sudan supports the stability in Syria and opposes any foreign interference in its internal affairs.
