Venezuela calls US seizure of Maduro's plane 'piracy'

Venezuela's government on Monday slammed as "piracy" the seizure by US authorities of a plane used by strongman Nicolas Maduro in the wake of the presidential election both he and the opposition claim to have won.

"Once again, the authorities of the United States of America are engaged in a criminal practice that cannot be described as anything other than piracy," the foreign ministry in Caracas said in a statement.
