UK FM Lammy says Assad's demise 'brings no guarantee of peace'

The downfall of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad "brings no guarantee of peace," UK foreign minister David Lammy warned on Monday.

"Assad's demise brings no guarantee of peace," Lammy told parliament, adding that the ousted president was "the rat of Damascus fleeing to Moscow with his tail between his legs."
