Egypt arrests 12 "Black bloc" members

Egyptian police arrested on Saturday 12 members of an Egyptian group called "Black Bloc" who oppose Egypt's President Mohammad Morsi.

The state news agency MENA reported that the group was detained on accusations of seeking destruction of the country.

Little is known about the aforementioned group whose first post on its Facebook page was dated January 21 this year.

The group’s strategy is inspired by Black Bloc protesters in Europe by dressing in black and covering their faces and says it has one enemy-the Muslim Brotherhood group.

In January, Egypt's Public Prosecutor Talaat Abdallah ordered police to arrest any suspect of being Black Bloc members.
