Unknown men kidnap Filipina anchor

Police said on Sunday that a female anchor in Quezon, Philippines was kidnapped by unidentified armed men.

The police identified the victim as Melinda Jennifer Glefonea, reporter/anchor of Edge Radio based in Candelaria.

Mitch Regondola, a co-anchor of Glefonea, said the victim regularly received “death threats” by text and mobile calls during early morning.

Ronilo Dagos, head of the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines-Quezo chapter, slammed  the kidnapping, calling on the authorities to rescue her.

He also called on all Quezon media employees to take safety precautions on their daily news routines.

Glefonea's daily show used to tackle illegal activities, police scalawags,  government officials and election candidates.
