Civil Defense volunteers gathered on Wednesday at the Riad al-Solh Square in downtown Beirut where they celebrated the passing of a law related to their employment demands.
The protesters delivered several speeches, whereby they stressed the need to pass the said laws, since they serve the whole country and risk their lives to help citizens in need. Member of the Loyalty to the Resistance MP Ali Ammar joined the protesters in their sit-in, where he expressed his support to all their rightful demands and to the approval of the series of ranks and salaries, which he said "must be passed in accordance with the country's laws."
In the region of Ramla al-Baydah, Civil Defense volunteers took their sit-in to another level, where dozens of them went into the sea, and claimed that they will keep on swimming in the cold, volatile waters until Parliament passes their law.
The volunteers also gathered in Iqlim al-Kharroub.
