Amal Movement postpones conference as security warnings increase
Amal Movement decided on Friday to postpone a conference scheduled to be held at the UNESCO palace in the presence of Speaker Nabih Berri after receiving security information.

Sources said that the decision came after contacts with Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq.

In this regard, information made available to LBCI stated that postponing the conference came within the framework of a precautionary measure, for fear of a potential security event.

Sources had reported that extremist groups are planning to implement an attack targeting senior figures, parties’ headquarters or hospitals in the Beirut’s southern suburbs, noting that security warnings have increased recently in a bid to prevent any attack.
