REPORT: Security plan kicks off in Beirut Southern Suburbs

Lebanon’s security forces have launched a security plan in the Beirut Southern Suburbs and have been conducting, since early Tuesday, foot and motorized patrols across the streets of the southern city of Sidon.

The security forces have also set up checkpoints with vehicles being inspected and passerby’s identification papers being checked upon.

This as, the Lebanese Armed Forces Intelligence raided a number of houses in Abra in search of fugitives, and arrested two supporters of fugitive hardline cleric Ahmad al-Assir.
