3-month-old Lebanese baby beaten to death

3-month-old Ghena Mahmoud Abd al-Razek Hawana was transferred to the Saint Teresa Hospital in Hadath after being beaten to death on Thursday.             

Social Affairs Minister Wael Abu Faour said that inspections revealed a number of fractions in different parts of the baby’s body.                     

Abu Faour added that the victim’s father was banned from leaving the hospital, confirming that the perpetrator will be held accountable for this crime.                  

Surgeon Dr. Bassan Feghali said that the baby girl suffered from fractures and bruises in her ribs and skull. Feghali added that the baby died at 10:30 am while her parents brought her to the hospital at 2 pm. He confirmed that the X-ray revealed that the baby had previously suffered from broken ribs. Other inspections found that parts of the baby girls scalp were missing, while neglect and torture write large on her face.      

Exclusive sources told LBCI that a verbal bout erupted between the baby’s father and uncle in the corridors of the Saint Teresa Hospital, exchanging accusations over her killing.
