Snow in Egypt for first time since decades while storm intensifies in Jordan

The Jordanian authorities called Friday on the citizens to abstain from leaving their houses due to the intensification of the snowstorm that has caused the closure of the majority of the Kingdom’s roads.

The Kingdom’s General Security issued a statement whereby it called on the citizens not to leave their houses, unless in case of emergency, adding that the capital’s roads are all closed due to the accumulation of snow and ice.

In Egypt, snow covered many cities in the suburbs of the capital Cairo, which was covered with snow for the first time since decades, according to the meteorology department.
