In case you missed it, and I doubt you have, Lebanon’s media persona, Tony Khalife, succeeded at being highly “misinterpreted” by feminists and human rights activists who have nothing on him and his "award-winning" line of journalism, which can very much be likened to an oriental version of "The Man Show."
Exhibit A: Hayat Mirshad, a feminist activist and journalist was recently ordered to appear before the cyber-crimes bureau after Khalife filed charges against her. Mirshad, who in a tweet accused him of accepting a bribe from Amin Abou Jaoudeh -a mayor mired in controversy and recently exposed via video evidence of beating his wife in public- defied the order and her case was dropped pending further examination by the concerned judiciary.

Exhibit B: In a recent broadcast, Khalife who is part of a four person panel delivers a gushing, emotional speech on the controversial topic of domestic violence and the rights of women.
In his self-righteous monologue, Khalife goes on to berate a survivor of domestic violence who was a guest on the show saying that her appearance and candor does more harm than good.
“Your presence on a show like this… recounting the abuse you had endured while with your husband is more of an embarrassment to your son than him having witnessed his father’s violence against you,” Khalife says.
“I refuse that men in the region continuously be depicted in an overly patriarchal manner.”
Here’s the video. Notice the finger waving and the intimidating tone used with the woman, whom he had never met until that moment.
Exhibit C: On that same show, Khalife reprimands another woman who happens to be a contestant auditioning for a TV presenter job.
In his comments, he belittles her ambition saying that while she did possess the needed talent; her being pregnant presents an obstacle.“Out of a sense of respect to your husband, I feel that you should not continue on the path towards achieving your dreams,” he told her.
Needless to say, a response was in check.
