Heroic Hyena Clan Kills Human Intruders, Declines Selfie

"The state-run National News Agency reported on Friday that villagers from Nabha in the Beqaa region killed a hyena, reportedly attempting to gain access to a food source inside the village.
 
The agency added that the men who killed the hyena also took selfies with the lifeless body of the animal, as other villagers flocked to witness."

This is exactly how it was reported -in a heroic manner- as though to denote bravery in a sense that what the men had done was something exceptional, something to be commended.

The only reason this hyena encroached on human terrain is probably due to its separation from its clan, severe hunger brought upon by loss of territory and the increase in pollution that make it near impossible for wild animals to reproduce, which plays a pivotal role in the food chain…You know, because science? What’s worse is the fact that they took photos with the carcass, reminiscent of those taken by poachers who boast their empty victory over defenseless animals.

They knew that the death of the humans was only a matter of time, so they did the kindest thing and hunted them down. The birds –well, what’s left of them anyway- and bsaynet el 7ay, ate for hours. No part of the humans went to waste since hyenas DO NOT EAT FRESH MEAT AND ARE CLASSIFIED AS SCAVENGERS. It was truly the kindest thing to do. The heroic hyena declined a smiling selfie next to the dead bodies of the humans…”  

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." But judging by the country’s latest events, namely the cold-blooded murder of Georges al-Rif in a busy Beirut street, I don’t see how that’s possible.
