Gemayel: Hezbollah must implement Baabda Declaration

Kataeb party leader Amin Gemayel said on Monday that Hezbollah’s participation in Syria’s battles is negatively affecting national unity and the cabinet formation process, stressing that it is also jeopardizing the fate of the Lebanese nationals living and working abroad, mainly in the Gulf States.

In a press conference held following the party’s weekly meeting, Gemayel stated that the only solution to the current critical situation is that Hezbollah implements the Baabda declaration, stressing that the Shiite party’s activities have led to the postponement of the Parliament session.

On another note, Gemayel added that exceptionally extending the mandate of LAF Commander General Jean Kahwagi may have many advantages amid the current critical situation.
