Daher: Defense Minister's words trigger tension

Deputy Khaled Daher said that the remarks made by Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn concerning the existence of al-Qaeda members in Lebanon trigger tension.

He added that the statements of President Michel Sleiman and Interior Minister Marwan Charbel are the best response to Ghosn's allegations that al Qaeda members infiltrated from Lebanon to Syria.

"We know that the supreme commander of all armed forces in Lebanon is President Sleiman", Daher told "Voice of Lebanon"-Freedom and Dignity radio on Tuesday.

The MP stressed that violations along the Lebanese-Syrian borders should be solved in a legal manner, pointing out to the silence of the Lebanese cabinet over these breaches, calling on the Lebanese to defend the sovereignty of their territories and prevent the Syrian regime from breaching their land.
