Mikati decries recent border incident, pledges to take necessary measures
PM Najib Mikati decried on Thursday the security incidents that recently occurred on the Lebanese-Syrian border, confirming that necessary measures will be undertaken in this regard.

During his meeting with the Grand Serail’s employees, Mikati said that any attempt to diminish the premiership’s prerogatives will be thwarted by those “keen on respecting the constitution and abiding by the text of the charter” who will categorically refuse any compromise.

Mikati had earlier met with the new council of the Association of Hotel Owners in Lebanon headed by Pierre Achkar who confirmed that political stability is key to a healthy flow of tourist.

“Debates taking place every now and then between the majority and the opposition and the squabbling between cabinet members do not serve the desired stability,” he added.
