Rai: It is time to go back to the roots of National Charter
Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai called on Thursday for “going back to the roots of the National Charter to start a new beginning.”    

During a dinner banquet, Rai said that restoring St. Maroun’s Monastery does not aim only at turning the place into a site for religious tourism; it rather aims at going back to basics, to the root of its identity and message.    

“We are a church and a country; we do not want to antagonize anyone. Lebanon’s beauty lies in befriending all the states,” he added.
