He added that hindering the quorum of the parliamentary session is not a democratic act, noting that the role of foreign countries is limited to showing support for the efforts exerted in order to hold the presidential elections on time.
In a speech he delivered before a diplomatic delegation, Sleiman said that Syria should not allow the intervention of any Lebanese party, Iran or Gulf States in its affairs, urging the world powers to refrain from turning Lebanon into a passage for interference in Syria.
On another note, Sleiman called on the concerned authorities to support the military institution and provide it with the required equipment that allows it to be the only institution controlling weapons in Lebanon, noting that this can be achieved by approving a defense strategy.
