Zahra believes Ghosn taking directives from Syrian regime

Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra said on Wednesday that Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn used his statements for political ends under the request of the Syrian regime.     

Zahra told Free Lebanon radio station that “should members of security or military bodies hold information regarding the infiltration of any peoples posing a security threat to Lebanon, they are supposed to take the initiative to settle the issue by pursuing the individuals and arrest them.”    

Commenting on the attacks launched by MP Sleiman Frangieh against some cabinet members, Zahra said that the cabinet is divided, and each party is trying to take political positions against the other party and to embarrass it.    

Commenting on MP Walid Jumblatt’s remarks on the Syrian situation, Zahra said that his statements constitute calls for dialogue and reforms.     

“Jumblatt did not shift to March 8, as he announced, even if previous circumstances prompted him to secure the majority which allowed the 2011 political coup,” he added.
