Bassil: al-Qaeda is a reality in Lebanon

Energy Minister Gebran Bassil said that the issue of Lebanese oil requires swift action and cannot be dealt with like any other issue, adding that the pertinent dispute with Cyprus or Israel is not over yet.

While launching the “Janna Dam” project at a meeting in his office, Bassil said that this project is very important as it is the biggest dam in Lebanon.

Bassil said that al-Qaeda is a reality that exists in Lebanon under other names and other titles like Fatah al-Islam or Jundi al Cham, but the LAF paid the price of this reality.

Bassil advised all generator owners to content themselves with acceptable profits because the inter-ministries oversight will be strict on violators. Bassil added that he is following up on the generator issue.
