Contractual teachers voice absolute rejection of open initiative

Contractual teachers in secondary, primary and public vocational education announced, following a general assembly held at Omar Farroukh public high school voiced their absolute rejection of the open initiative. They suggested holding exams on the basis of which teachers will be chosen to teach at the Lebanese University’s Faculty of Education.

The teachers said they will submit this final proposal directly to the Education Minister, hoping that officials will actually look into it. They warned that if their requests are not met, they will take escalated steps, most importantly, hold an open sit-in outside the Ministry of Education, call for an open strike and organize protests.
