Mahfouz: we insist on transportation allowance

The Head of private schools teachers syndicate in Lebanon Nehmat Mahfouz announced on Tuesday that the participation of the Trade Union Coordinating Body in the drawing up of any agreement on wages issue is suggested by the Shura Council.

“The Body is not part of the political debate within the government, its work is of syndical, not political, nature,” he added.

Mahfouz voiced hope on Nharkom Said TV Show that a plan benefiting all the Lebanese would be agreed upon, adding that it is the political circumstances that imply on all parties to reach an agreement.

Mahfouz added that the wage adjustment issue will not pass if it does not draw the consent of the Trade Union Coordinating Body and the Shura Council, highlighting the Body’s insistence on securing a transportation allowance.
