Kanaan: Agreement between economic bodies and GLC is illegal

Change and Reform bloc Secretary MP Ibrahim Kanaan said on Tuesday that the goal behind the whole wage adjustment issue is to ensure social justice for employers and employees in Lebanon, adding that the agreement concluded between the economic bodies and the GLC is illegal.                

Following the Change and Reform bloc’s weekly meeting, Kanaan said that neglecting the people’s priorities such as the budget is tantamount to a cover-up for the process of isolating Lebanon from the reform process.                  

Kanaan said that Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai aims to have state administration vacancies filled and urges politicians to do so. He added that Rai does not take a stand against anyone and does not prefer one candidate over the other in the framework of appointments.                   

On the other hand, Kanaan said that MP Jarrah’s statements make no sense and are a cover-up for the judicial reality in Lebanon.                 

Acquitting Siniora does not happen through mudslinging or by slandering people known for their honesty and transparency, he said.
