Nasrallah to Ban Ki-Moon: your concerns over arms reassure us

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered a public speech on Saturday in Ras el Ain, Baalbek, on the 40th Anniversary of Imam Hussein's Martyrdom.      

Nasrallah confirmed that preserving internal security is the responsibility of the LAF, State and institutions, refusing that his party be charged with this responsibility.       

The Hezbollah Leader reiterated his support for a dialogue discussing a national defense strategy, instead of the disarmament issue.       

“I've never said I am against dialogue but some parties are only seeking disarmament through it” he said.    

"[The party’s] disarmament is an illusion and very difficult to achieve," he confirmed, adding that the "resistance is here to stay and with an increasing readiness level."      

Addressing U.N. Chief Ban Ki Moon, Nasrallah said "your concerns over [our] arms reassure us", hoping that these concerns would later extend to involve the U.S. and Israel.       

The Hezbollah Leader confirmed that no political division will lead to an unwanted civil war or shake Lebanon’s security.

As for ministerial issues, Nasrallah hoped that ministers will double their efforts to settle the people’s daily issues, wishing that the wage issue would soon be settled.        

Commenting on the events in Syria, Nasrallah urged the Syrian opposition to meet President Bashar Assad’s calls for dialogue and to cooperate with him in order to spearhead reforms as he called for a rational solution for the Syrian crisis.
