Four people, including two foreign tourists, were kidnapped by gunmen who killed five foreigners in Ethiopia's Afar region, a government spokesman said on  Wednesday.

The government said two Germans, two Hungarians and one Austrian were killed and two Germans kidnapped.

The spokesman said the attack occurred at 5 a.m. on Tuesday and said the kidnappers were  'Eritrean-trained groups.'
