The ghost of collapse haunts Lebanese, Shwit residents live in fear
The 18 residents of a three-story building in Shwit, Shouf, have been living in a state of anxiety and fear after the Ashrafieh tragedy shed light on the cracks eating away at the wall of their homes.

The cracks, which came after erosion broke down an adjacent road and caused massive shifts in the homes’ foundations, pose a direct threat to the residents’ safety.

It is worth mentioning that 3 months ago, construction works were launched to repair the road. However, the damage was already done prompting the residents to appeal to the concerned authorities to examine the conditions of their homes and to repair them.
