27 buildings in Nehmeh region at risk of collapsing

After the collapse of the building in Fassouh, Achrafieh, 27 buildings in the Mazhar complex in the Nehmeh region are vulnerable to collapse, prompting the residents to call on the concerned authorities to look into their situation.

The 492 apartment complex has been at risk of collapsing since 2001 when one of the buildings collapsed, causing many deaths.

The building’s residents told LBCI that they will not leave their houses even if the High Relief Commission offered them money. Instead they called for substitute apartments.

LBCI attempted to contact the complex’s owner, but he was out of reach.
