Diab: Syrian people and regime alone will decide direction of revolution

Education Minister Hassan Diab said on Saturday that the visit of U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon bears great significance, adding that the visit shows that Lebanon is committed to the implementation of resolution 1701.

“Ban’s visit is a sign that the south of Lebanon is stable and secure”, Diab said. Diab stressed that the Syrian people and regime alone will decide which direction the Syrian revolution will take, adding that Lebanon is distancing itself from the repercussions that will endanger the country’s security.

Speaking on the wage issue, Diab said that the decision has been taken by the cabinet and everyone is working on ensuring its implementation.
