Ban Ki Moon: Assad must put an end to bloodshed
U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon urged Syrian President Bashar Assad to stop the killings and the bloodshed in his country.        

As African heads of state converged on Ethiopia's capital for an African Union summit, Ban said Sunday that as a leader, Assad has a duty to solve this crisis and launch a political dialogue.         

On another note, the U.N. chief warned that the oil dispute between Sudan and South Sudan has become "a serious threat to peace and security in the region."
