Geagea urges cabinet to resign and form technocrat government

Head of the Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea said on Thursday Lebanon is going through the worst period in six years.

Geagea said that the other camp had always criticized the former government each time it spent money from outside the budget, while the parliament was, at that time, closed.

"Now, however, they allow themselves to spend from outside the budget despite the fact that the parliament's doors are open," he said addressing the government’s components.

The LF leader said the government components had not agreed on any topic since the government formation.

"The only thing they agreed on was to topple the cabinet led by former PM Hariri," he noted, criticizing their remarks about change and reform plans.

Geagea said those who respected themselves should resign from this government, calling for forming a technocrat cabinet able to address the people's livelihood affairs.

Accordingly Geagea announced that this government is tarnishing the image of Lebanon in the Middle East.

The LF chief said the death of former State Minister Nassib Lahoud is a great loss for Lebanon, as he had put the country's interest above all mediocre calculations.
