Abou Zaynab from Rabieh: Aoun does not need mediation

Member of Hezbollah’s political office Ghaleb Abou Zaynab said on Monday that the Head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun does not need any mediation since his position is well known.

Abou Zaynab stressed that Hezbollah will stand by Aoun in the name of people’s best interests even if taking it to the street is called for.

Following the meeting between a Hezbollah delegation and Aoun in Rabieh, Abou Zaynab said: “Neither us nor the Free Patriotic Movement have taken up stirring protests as a pastime. Only when things came to a stalemate, did General Michel Aoun propose this solution”.

Abou Zaynab added that there will be no post-Assad phase, stressing that the Syrian regime is strong and popular amongst its people.

“The Syrian regime is there to confront the U.S. and Israeli administrations. It is siding with righteousness not with falsehood”, Abou Zaynab said.
