Rai arrives in Cyprus for pastoral visit

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai arrived Friday morning in Cyprus on a private jet for a pastoral visit where he will meet a number of civilians and religious figures.

Before heading to Cyprus, Rai stressed at the airport that Maronites exist in Cyprus since 1200 B.C., adding “it is a pastoral visit”.

It is noteworthy that Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud, representing President Michel Sleiman, Cypriot Ambassador to Lebanon Homer Mavromatis and other religious and official figures were present at Hariri International Airport to bid him farewell.
