Baath Party waiting for green light to march against Sheikh Assir

The Lebanese Baath Party and several other national parties demanded from the Ministry of Interior the right to stage a counter demonstration on Sunday.

Their request came as a reaction to Sheikh Ahmad Assir’s calls for a sit-in in Beirut Downtown to support the Syrian people in “their struggle for freedom”.

The national parties are still waiting for the Minister of Interior Marwan Charbel’s approval.

On the other hand sources revealed that until now Assir did not get the green light for his strike in Beirut.
