Mikati on Twitter, discusses Syria and today’s demonstrations with followers

PM Najib Mikati told his followers on Twitter that the right to demonstrate is granted by the Lebanese constitution, adding that “it should happen peacefully, under the rule of law and within national interests”.

Speaking on expenditures, Mikati considered that what is applied to this cabinet should be applied to former ones, voicing regret that tensions have become part of Lebanese politics. The Prime Minister said that the dissociation policy adopted by the Lebanese cabinet regarding the Syrian situation does not mean that Lebanon is not concerned by the dire humanitarian situation in Syria.

“Lebanon offered great assistance within its limited means”, Mikati said.
