During a press conference, Salam regretted that “holding those responsible for Saturday’s events accountable is subject to political bickering,” adding that everyone should bear the responsibility of these incidents.
“The incidents were not fabricated but the result of accumulated facts,” he stated, noting that the waste crisis in Lebanon is a matter of “political garbage represented by all the political parties.”
He added that the current situation requires radical treatment, pointing out that he called for a cabinet session on Thursday, during which essential decisions must be made to resolve urgent matters.
“Patience has limits, and my patience depends on that of the Lebanese people,” he said, adding that he has been subject to several intimidation campaigns aiming at forcing him to resign.
“If Thursday’s cabinet session fails to achieve any tangible result, there will be no need for other sessions,” he noted.
