MP Alain Aoun: Jumblatt is not part of the March 8 political alliance

MP Alain Aoun criticized the recent positions voiced by MP Walid Jumblatt, adding that the latter should not be considered as part of the majority, at least at the political level.

He added that Jumblatt chooses his positions depending on the issue raised by the cabinet.

Aoun reiterated the Change and Reform bloc’s rejection of any attempt to link the 8.9 trillion LBP extra-budgetary spending with the $11 billion issue.

"The only solution for the $11 billion is that a balance sheet be drawn up by the Finance Ministry and then referred to the Audit Bureau for auditing. Once this is done, the authorities should then send these accounts to the Parliamentary Budget and Finance Committee," Aoun said.

Aoun denied that MP Michel Aoun has any intention to withdraw his ministers from the cabinet if a budget solution is not found.
