Safadi: Lebanon adheres to its maritime border rights
Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi said on Thursday that the relationship between Cyprus and Lebanon is grounded upon “mutual respect and interests as well as the strong will to enhance the world peace especially in the Eastern Mediterranean.”

As he was wrapping up his official visit to Cyprus, Safadi stressed that Lebanon adheres to its full right to its maritime space to which Israel claims rights.

In turn, the Cypriot foreign minister confirmed that her country, which will take the helm of the Council of the European Union in June, will be supportive of Lebanon’s positions in international forums.

Talks between Safadi and his Cypriot counterpart focused on improving mutual interests in all fields. It was also agreed during the meeting to form a joint commission affiliated with the finance ministries of both countries.
