Rai bound for Jordan, Qatar

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai met on Thursday with former Premier Saad Hariri's political advisor, Daoud Sayegh.

Talks between both officials touched on general affairs.

Sayegh thanked Rai, on behalf of Hariri, for sending a representative to participate in the March 14 ceremony aimed at disclosing the Future Movement's manifesto.

"His beatitude is fully aware of the current critical stage and of the role that ought to be played by the Lebanese for the sake of their unity, values and position in the region and the entire world," Sayegh said.

Separately, Patriarch Rai received former Minister Charles Rizk with whom he discussed the general situation.

Rai will leave to Jordan this afternoon, then to Qatar as part of pastoral visits.

The Patriarch will be back to Lebanon on March 13.
