REPORT: UCC holds protest before Social Affairs Ministry
Head of the Private Schools Teachers Association, Nehme Mahfoud, lamented on Monday the "pressure exerted on some schools in Baabda and Beirut to deter them from participating in today’s strike."

“We will not give up and we will remain in the streets until the waste management crisis is tackled and the salary scale is approved,” he added during a protest held before Social Affairs Ministry.

For his part, Head of the Public Administration Employees, Mahmoud Haidar, reiterated that their battle is ongoing until the new salary scale is set, calling upon the Union Coordination Committee to preserve its unity and independence.

Earlier today, UCC protesters blocked the road near the Social Affairs Ministry.
